Arlington

Arlington is building a special memorial for the Kennedy family.  We were surprised to find Ted Kennedy's burial temporarily like this.

I was amazed to read this story about how the chief of Plenty Coups attended a ceremony of the unknown soldiers.  He laid his head piece on the tomb and and bent down to pay respect to the men who gave their lives and lost in the war.  We live about 30 miles from Crow.  I was reminded that the "unknown soldier" is not just about the army, or marines, or navy, etc.  It is for all the unknown soldiers who have fought and lost their lives in war.

Visiting Arlington was a very humbling and educational experience.  Reading about how after every war they have a funeral for all the men who don't come back.  How the tomb of the unknowns is for so many of those men who lost their lives and their bodies were never found.  It was very humbling.  This was one of my most favorite memorials, and I am so glad to have gotten the chance to visit it.  It truly was a reminder of all those service men.
