Kaleb made this scarecrow in school...and it was so cute we decided to hang it on the sliding glass door. I try to hang their famous art work every now and then on the fridge or here because it makes them so happy. It on the other hand back fired on me. The little paper says: Scarecrow, Scarecrow, how scary can you be? You scared Kaleb, but you didn't scare me. Well....I beg to differ. After getting the kids to bed and going through the ritual of laying out clothes and going through backpacks...I turned off the lights, grabbed my book, and went downstairs to read. (now mind you I am currently reading a murder mystery about a guy that rapes and kills women home alone...I know! I know! You don't have to tell me how crazy I am with Les being gone) So I left the living room lamp on giving a soft glow in case one of the kids got up. After about an hour or so, I came upstairs to grab a drink of water and go to bed. I walked past the sliding glass window, which I didn't pull the shades....and nearly came out of my skin. It looked like there was a man standing in the window. This scarecrow is as tall as Kaleb. I let out a scream...and yelp...and jumped a mile. Then after realizing it was that dang scarecrow with that stupid saying..."You didn't scare me", I considered ripping it down and throwing it in the garbage. LOL...*sigh* I'll have to remember to tack it on the fridge or close the shades the next time the kids bring home a life like home made creature.
