After the family reunion, we drove down to Duchesne to visit "Grandpa's farm" as the kids call it. It was so nice to visit with Grandpa and Grandma...as we don't get that way very often. The kids just had a ball at the "farm". Asking grandma and grandpa a thousand questions...and enjoying the country. Ava and I took great delight in rummaging through grandma's old costume jewelry and listening to the stories of each piece. Grandma Marelda was so kind to give Ava her antique dolls and curio cabinet that they belong in. After we got home...Ava was adamant that her dad find a spot for her cabinet...so we got the cabinet and the dolls all cleaned up and found a great spot for the cabinet downstairs in our family room. Ava and I picked out some of her special things in her room given to her by her godmother, grandma sherle, and nana gina to go in the cabinet for safe keeping. She comes downstairs often to look at that cabinet. I don't think she quite grasps how special it is to have something from her great grandma that she will always have....but when she is old enough, I know she will cherish it as much as I do.
