Nana and Bompa visit us out east: Part 1

This time we stayed in Alexandria (we always try to stay in a different area of DC every time we go down for a different experience each time) and I was dying to see Christ church where George Washington and Robert E Lee attended.  We loved the history.  They have this baptismal font that had been thrown into the potomac during the civil war.  Some of the soldiers went in after it and had it put back together.  We were amazed to learn that you had to purchase or buy your own pew.  The closer to the front, the more expensive the pews got.  Someone had purchased a pew for "strangers", or visitors.  It was a neat experience.  I just loved Alexandria.  It was a cute little town packed full of history.

We also took my parents to Arlington, because I truly believe everyone should see it.
We took a ferry boat from Georgetown back to Alexandria.  I am so glad we did that.  It was amazing.  I unfortunately did not get many pictures, and will have to snag my dads camera later to steal his.  Seeing all the monuments lit up from the water at night was AMAZING!

My parents flew out to spend a week with us while we were out East for the summer and to get in some site seeing.  We spent a few days in DC, then a day where Les lives (my dad wanted to check out that area and see the tunnels), then we spent a day in Gettysburg, a day at Hershey, then back to DC.  It was fun, but EXHAUSTING!  We all were just plain wore out
