I wanted to start the tradition of Elf on the Shelf with my kids. When Ava was in Kindergarten her teacher had the Elf on the Shelf, and she has talked about it every year since. I finally found it by chance at Target this year. It's such a great tradition. It comes with a great story book. It's about this elf that sits on the shelf during the day, then at night he leaves and goes to the North pole reporting to Santa how good you've been that day. He has magic, so you're not suppose to touch him, then in the morning...he's in a new place. It has kinda got to be fun for the kids to look for his new spot in the morning. Ava SWEARS she saw his leg move a little bit. I am trying to remember to move his body in to different positions. The first day I had his legs crossed, and all day the kids were like he's got to be uncomfortable, he's going to get a leg cramp, he won't be able to walk tonight with he legs crossed all day. It's really cute. I love the innocence of a child. I on the other hand....think this little elf is really creepy. If any one knows me...they know I am terrified of dolls (especially porcelain and clown dolls). Ava, goes mom...wouldn't it be really funny if you woke up and he was laying on daddy's pillow next to you? I was like...no. That would not be funny. Then Ava goes, that's not nice. He probably gets tired too. She is sure a sweet little thing.

That's cool how it comes with a story & how he "moves" around. What's even funnier is what Ava said, how cute!

Thanks Jennifer for the great ideas. I seem to nearly forget, then I'm planning last second. I need to get things together while they are in school, so when they go to bed I can just set up.
