Kaleb got to be the star of the week at school this week. On Monday he got to bring in a photo of himself with his family to go on their starfish wall. Tuesday he got to bring in a show and tell...and he decided he wanted to bring in his treasures from places we have visited. As I started to dig out his treasures...I started to think how lucky my kids truly are. He was able to bring a drum from Hawaii, and guitar from Mexico, a wooden eagle rubber band shooter from Alaska, acorns from Gettysburg, seashells from Seaside, Oregon, coins from Washington DC...and many other treasures. I thought...he is only 5, and has traveled to 3 countries, been to many states, and has visited 3 beaches. On Wednesday he got to bring in a snack begining with the letter of the week (which started with the letter "S"). I found this great site that does fun and silly treats for kids, and we went to work on the Strawberry mice. In class the kids got to play 20 questions to guess what the snacks were. Of course Kaleb was a hit with these fun creatures...though he mentioned the ears were nasty. (Almond slices) Well...you can't please everyone.
