St. Francis Primary started a first Girl Scouts troop. Ava begged and pleaded to join. I, myself, was a girl scout when I was young. So, we signed her up, bought her a vest and book....and started our Thursday meetings. She is really excited...and I am for her too. I had a lot of fun going to camp over the years, and was a top cookie seller (thanks to my mom). We haven't earned any badges yet, but Ava is on her way there. She came home this past Thursday with a beautiful plant that she has to take care of. I thought....GREAT! If anyone knows me, I do NOT have a green thumb. I kill everything. Hence the fake plants in my house, and the Burberry bushes in the yard. (which by the way, are suppose to be impossible to kill....I have lost two.) So, I set this plant on the coffee table in our front room, and I have vowed to stay away from it. Ava comes home from school and waters this thing once a day. I'm thinking it's too much, but it's her badge....not mine right? AND what do I know about plants. I can't even keep mine alive. So....next year. Girl Scout cookies! I have already rounded up some customers...and we are looking forward to summer camp. Now...we just have to talk daddy into letting her go.
